HP Announces New Release of ‘Enterprise Cloud Services—Compute’
HP Enterprise Services, the global business and technology services division of Hewlett Packard’s Enterprise Business unit, has announced a new release of its Enterprise Cloud Services that enhances the performance of mission-critical applications while meeting the changing demands and workloads of enterprise clients.
Clients implementing an infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) model require high performance of key business applications as well as reliable data protection. The new enhancements to HP Enterprise Cloud Services—Compute enable clients to increase enterprise agility and advance security by automating server load balancing, which distributes workloads across several servers to improve application performance; automating the management of additional virtual local area networks (LANs) within an isolated cloud environment for comprehensive and increased security; and improving on an off-site encrypted backup and restore options for servers, virtual machines and databases, resulting in greater data protection of critical data.
The HP Enterprise Cloud Services—Compute ‘Proof of Concept’ program is a low-commitment way that enables clients to evaluate cloud computing services in a real-life cloud environment. Clients are able to experience the capabilities of Enterprise Cloud Services—Compute via a short-term trial run in which applications can be run through HP’s cloud computing infrastructure. Clients can provision servers or configure virtual machines with the support of a team of HP engineers so as to evaluate the capabilities and features of the Enterprise Cloud Services.
“Organizations need to rapidly innovate to better serve their customers, while improving operational efficiency. HP Enterprise Cloud Services—Compute delivers a flexible and agile IT infrastructure that provides our clients with the capabilities they need to create competitive advantage in the market,” said Marshal Correia, director of Enterprise Services, HP India.
Enterprise Cloud Services—Compute is delivered by HP Enterprise Services’ global data centers. Running on an HP Converged Infrastructure, clients are provided with server, storage, network and security bundles that are consumed as a service. Clients are able to secure and allocate technology resources without an upfront capital investment or the burden of procurement and installation. Infrastructure can be scaled up or down according to fluctuating business demands, valuable information assets and processes are protected, and the client benefits from HP’s automation, economies of scale, and global best practices.
HP has cloud delivery centers in both the United States and the United Kingdom, and plans to launch additional centers in regional locations in 2012.
